United We Stand at Idle Hour

Students in the hallway

Last week, Idle Hour students recognized United We Stand for a Drug-Free Community Week through fun and creative activities that reinforced the importance of healthy choices, kindness and safety.

Students took part in theme days encouraging them to "team" up against drugs, dream big, and “say boo to drugs.” Classes also decorated a skeleton to “scare drugs away,” adding some Halloween fun to the week’s message.

Youth Enrichment Services visited for an assembly about making healthy choices, while kindergarteners headed to the local firehouse to learn important fire safety lessons.

Throughout the week, students learned how positive choices and looking out for one another can help create a healthier, safer community.

A group of children in costumes poses in front of a Halloween-themed display with the sign "Scaring the Drugs Away".  Two children stand side by side in a hallway, smiling at the camera and wearing matching black t-shirts and light-colored pants.

Four young children stand in a hallway in front of a colorful school mural.  Two adults present a lesson on a digital screen to a group of children sitting on the floor in a classroom.
