Cherokee Street “Pinks It Forward” in support of those with breast cancer

Throughout the month of October, Cherokee Street Elementary School held its fourth annual Pink It Forward fundraiser in support of breast cancer awareness. The initiative, led by speech-language pathologist Mrs. Bren, engaged the entire school community in raising funds for a meaningful cause.
The event culminated in a schoolwide walk, where participants contributed $10 each to join. Staff members also had the opportunity to donate $10 for a chance to win a raffle basket. In total, the event raised $835.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the funds raised will provide support to approximately 50 women currently undergoing treatment or impacted by breast cancer. Donations will be used to supply “treat yourself” gift cards and care packages, which will be delivered to oncology suites at Stony Brook Cancer Center and New York Cancer and Blood Specialists.
