Congratulations to Connetquot’s Lady T-Birds Cross-Country Team

Girls’ cross-country coach Mike Austin is so proud of this year’s team and shares the following accomplishments for these talented Lady T-Birds. To begin with, the team finished second in Suffolk League II with an impressive overall record of 5-1. The team also finished first in the two invitational tournaments of the season.

Connetquot’s sophomores finished second in the Suffolk County competition at the Freshman/Sophomore Championships. The following young ladies earned All-League commendations: Marissa McDougall, Madeline Barget, Julia Mansfield and eighth grader Olivia DiGaetano.

Marisa McDougall and Madeline Barget also qualified as All-Division. Marissa qualified for All-Suffolk County, and Madeline Barget qualified for the Academic All-County team.

Congratulations, and thank you, to Lauren Murphy, the team’s senior captain. “She played an amazing role in the mental well-being of the team,” said coach Austin. “Lauren brought a tremendous amount of fun to all activities while leading by example and by demonstrating that hard work truly does pay off. This was an amazing group of girls to work with, and they made me very proud.”
