Bosti students advance in First in Math competiton
Three second grade students from Edward J. Bosti Elementary School have been named regional champions in the New York State Education Department’s First in Math competition, earning a spot in the state finals to be held in Albany this June.
Students Ethan Licurse, James Thomas and Teo Ozelsancak secured the top honor through their strong performance in the online program, which promotes math fluency and problem-solving through interactive games and challenges. Their achievement also earned a $1,000 prize for the school.
First in Math is designed to reinforce key mathematical concepts while encouraging critical thinking and engagement in a fun, competitive format.
The students were guided by their teacher, Mrs. Manzo, whose support helped foster their success. The Connetquot community congratulates Ethan, James and Teo and wishes them the best of luck as they advance to the state finals!
