Connetquot’s 14th annual Library Literacy Celebration

On April 15, Connetquot's library media specialists hosted the 14th annual Library Literacy Celebration at Connetquot High School.
The theme of this year's event, Let Reading Stretch Your Mind was illuminated by a showcase of authentic, literacy-based student work from across the district, and a special presentation by Connetquot elementary teacher and author, Erin Marrazzo. In the auditorium, Mrs. Marrazzo led students through yoga and mindfulness practices, while sharing her first book, “Everyday Mindful Mantras for Minis”.
Outside of the auditorium, Connetquot High School senior and author Amanda Barile shared her book, “I Choose Courage” while talking with celebration attendees about her creative process as a writer. Her process took shape in the Children's Literature English elective course that she took as a junior.
