Connetquot’s Instructional Technology team shares “Legends Rebooted” at ASSET

At this year’s Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technologies (ASSET) conference, the district’s Instructional Technology Department presented “Legends Rebooted: Classroom Documentaries with a Modern Twist.” Presenters Victoria Pappas, Kristen Fantry, Sam Canonica and Samantha Caruso highlighted an innovative approach to learning that brought historical figures to life through student-created documentaries.
Using digital tools such as MagicSchool and WeVideo, students conducted research, wrote scripts, and produced original video content. The project was a true collaborative effort with administrators, teachers and technicians all playing important roles in supporting student success. Through the process of editing and sharing their work, students deepened their understanding while building critical digital skills. This experience demonstrated how technology can transform learning and inspire creativity across all grade levels.
