Sycamore Avenue students collect toiletries for local families

St. John Nepomucene Parish in Bohemia provides vital support to the local community through its parish outreach program, including a food pantry serving families in Bohemia, Oakdale, and West Sayville.
While the parish continues its efforts to provide holiday gifts to families in need, a new need emerged for essential toiletry items. After learning about this need, Mrs. Clare’s kindergarten class at Sycamore Avenue stepped up to help.
In the spirit of the holiday season, the Sycamore Avenue community came together to collect personal care products, exceeding expectations. Mrs. Clare’s students worked together to sort the donations and assemble personal care packages that will support 70 local families.
The students were enthusiastic about helping others, and St. John Nepomucene Parish expressed overwhelming gratitude for the generosity shown by the young volunteers.
