The Connetquot Central School District’s K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) program is proudly guided by the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. Our curriculum is rooted in research-based best practices grounded in the science of reading, ensuring that every student develops the essential literacy skills necessary for academic success and lifelong learning.
Through a comprehensive and cohesive approach, our ELA program fosters the development of critical skills that students need to become proficient readers, writers, listeners, and speakers. These skills include:

Social Studies
Our elementary Social Studies program is guided by the New York State K-12 Social Studies Framework, helping students build knowledge, skills, and values essential for active and engaged citizenship. Through the study of history, geography, economics, and civics, students explore communities past and present, learn about diverse cultures, and understand their role in a democratic society. Lessons focus on inquiry, critical thinking, and evidence-based reasoning, encouraging students to ask thoughtful questions, consider multiple perspectives, and make connections between their lives and the broader world.
