Sycamore second graders participate in nationwide Valentine exchange
Second graders in Mrs. Brigandi and Mrs. Feldmann’s class at Sycamore Avenue Elementary celebrated Valentine’s Day in a big way by participating in a nationwide Valentine exchange, connecting with students from across the country.
The class created letters describing their school, community, the weather, favorite subjects and more. The unique Valentines were mailed to at least 25 other classes across the country, and the students eagerly anticipated the arrival of their own cards.
The project provided a fun way to enhance the curriculum, allowing students to learn more about geography, maps and different communities. A U.S. map displayed on a bulletin board tracked the locations of incoming Valentines, bringing excitement and joy to the entire class.
