Sycamore third graders build coding skills with digital animation

Sycamore Avenue third graders in Mrs. Marinaccio and Mrs. Burns’ classes are turning code into creativity! Using the Sprite Editor program on the KidOYO platform, students designed and animated their own digital characters while building foundational coding and software skills.
Working on their Chromebooks, students learned how directional coding creates the illusion of movement on screen, bringing their original creations to life one step at a time. These early experiences in KidOYO are helping students grow their confidence as young coders and problem-solvers. As their skills continue to develop, students are on track to animate Pac-Man as one of their fifth grade projects.
