Duffield Elementary plays for the day

Sudents at Duffield Elementary School celebrated Global School Play Day on Feb. 4, taking time to enjoy independent, imaginative play. For the occasion, students brought in their favorite toys and games from home, forming small groups and sharing in the fun.

Global School Play Day encourages children to engage in unstructured play without screens, formal rules or adult-led activities. Play is widely recognized as essential to a child’s social, emotional and cognitive growth. Global School Play Day highlights the importance of these playful experiences in learning and sparks a worldwide conversation about the role of play in education.
