Idle Hour celebrates literacy at PARP Night

Idle Hour recently welcomed kindergarteners, first graders and their families for a fun-filled PARP Night. PARP, which stands for Pick a Reading Partner, is a program designed to encourage students to read daily with a family member or mentor, helping to strengthen literacy skills while fostering a lifelong love of reading.
The evening highlighted the collaborative spirit of the PARP program, bringing together students, parents and teachers to make reading both meaningful and enjoyable. Throughout the night, students rotated through a variety of engaging activities across the building. Highlights included story time in the library, a snowman-themed craft in the art room, a marshmallow-and-toothpick building challenge and an energetic “igloo” relay race, stacking cups.
