Science National Honor Society restores wetlands

On Oct. 27, Science National Honor Society students volunteered at the Pickman-Remmer Wetlands in southern Oakdale. This fall, their projects focused on reducing the risk of community flooding along the banks of the Connetquot River and enhancing the local ecosystem. Students planted native land and aquatic species, added trees, arranged rock walls, created gravel walkways, mulched garden beds, and removed weeds all to support a healthy environment and beautify the conserved properties in southern Oakdale.
