CHS students gain insight into the legal profession through “law camp”

A group of Connetquot High School students recently participated in a two-day “law camp” in partnership with a local law firm, offering them a unique introduction to the legal profession.
On the first day, students toured the courthouse and observed a judge presiding over live court proceedings. Day two took students to the Hauppauge offices of Feldman, Kramer and Monaco, P.C., where they explored different career paths in law and gained insight into the daily work of legal professionals. The program also included a mock sale and purchase of a business, giving students the chance to practice negotiation strategies while applying real legal principles in a hands-on scenario.
