Duffield’s Student Council promotes positivity within school and community

This year marks an exciting return for Duffield’s Student Council, which is back as a club offering for the first time since before COVID. The group has already been busy making a positive impact both within the school and in the wider community.
During their meeting on October 29, Student Council members wrote meaningful cards to thank local veterans in honor of Veterans Day.
The council’s overall mission is to promote positivity and appreciation for each other, teachers and their school community. In their first meeting of the year, members brainstormed schoolwide activities to bring the community together, including fun ideas like “Principal for a Day,” movie nights and a board game day.
Beyond their school spirit initiatives, the Student Council is also dedicated to community service. They recently planted fall plants in front of the school to make the campus more welcoming, sent out Boo Grams to teachers as a thoughtful surprise and are planning to create colorful placemats for local shelters ahead of Thanksgiving.
