Cherokee Street’s October Caring Leader

On Nov. 19, Cherokee Street fourth grader Samantha Halvax was honored with the Connetquot Caring Leader Award for October, recognizing her for displaying that month’s EASL theme, responsibility. School Social Worker Kellie Halford nominated Samantha during National Bullying Prevention Month, noting her consistent positivity, kindness, integrity and honesty. Samantha is a true role model, demonstrating exemplary behavior both in and out of the classroom.
Connetquot students continue to spread kindness by embracing the district’s monthly character education themes as part of the EASL initiative.
Congratulations, Sam!
