Information on Financial Aid (FAFSA & CSS PROFILE)

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for families to receive financial aid and is often required for college sponsored scholarships and grants.  This year, the FAFSA is being updated and will not be available until December 1, 2023, two months later than last year.  The Federal Student Aid Office of the Department of Education stated, "the redesigned FAFSA form is the most ambitious and significant redesign of the federal student aid application and delivery in decades, and will significantly simplify how students, parents, and other educational stakeholders use the FAFSA form starting this year."  If you would like to read more about the changes that are taking place, please click on the underlined link Federal Student Aid website.

In addition to the FAFSA, many private colleges and scholarship programs may have you complete the CSS Profile to award non-federal institutional aid.  This application is available starting on October 1, 2023.  Colleges may have different deadlines so be sure to check with each school you are applying to.  To learn more about the CSS Profile and learn how to complete the application please click on the following link: CSS PROFILE
