The district would like to congratulate Edith L. Slocum Elementary School library media specialist Laura Barry for being named a recipient of the 2019 TangerKIDS Grant.

According to Mrs. Barry, the $540 check will be used to purchase makerspace equipment and enhance Slocum’s overall student experience in the library media center.  

The TangerKIDS Grants program is designed to assist schools in Tanger Outlet Center’s primary markets by providing grants for special projects and needed programs or equipment. Grants can also support groups within the school, including fine arts, music or athletic programs.
