Students at John Pearl Elementary became weather casters for the day as part of Meteorologist John Marshall’s “John’s Weather Tour!”

For over 25 years, John has predicted accurate weather forecasts in the tri-state area, working on channels such as Fox Weather, CBS2 and WNBC Channel 4 in New York City.

During his live assembly, students learned about types of weather and their differences, including hail, sleet, rain, tornadoes and hurricanes. John also discussed his career and what it means to be a meteorologist, offering insights about the skills and equipment he uses to predict the weather. He also explained the tools that meteorologists use to collect and decipher weather data.

He then invited student-volunteers up to his mobile weather studio equipped with green screen technology where the students learned how to read a forecast on the green screen.
