In an effort to get a jump start on utilizing technology to communicate, third grade students enrolled in Stephanie Zelinski's class at Idle Hour Elementary School recently communicated with their pen pals from Valerie O'Connell’s and Susan Meade's class at Cherokee Street Elementary School in a video conference call via Google Meet.

Although they have never met one another prior to engaging in the video chat, the students enthusiastically greeted one another and introduced themselves to their pen pals with assistance from their teachers.

During their time spent communicating, they were able to ask questions about their pen pal’s school building, classroom set ups and current classroom projects. Additionally, they discussed similarities and differences about each other's communities.
