As part of Connetquot High School’s DASA/ Dignity for All Students Week, students attended an assembly presented by Suffolk County Police Officer Justin Fernandez on good decision-making.

Presentations and activities done throughout DASA week encourage students to show respect and dignity for others, spread kindness and promote unity. Officer Fernandez’s presentation emphasized that, “the way you do one thing is the way you do everything,” speaking to how one’s good decisions and actions bleed into everything they do.

He also spoke to students about the importance of “staying on their path,” encouraging them to keep their goals front-and-center and to not let peers’ negative actions lead them astray. He affirmed that actions have consequences and it’s up to each student to make positive changes and decisions in their own lives.
