OBMS and RMS compete in robotics qualifier

Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School and Ronkonkoma Middle School’s LEGO League Robotics teams competed in the FIRST LEGO league qualifying tournament at William Floyd High School.

Out of 25 teams competing, the Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School Robotics team placed third and were awarded the Engineering Excellence Award. As a result of their hard work, dedication and impressive performance, they were one of six teams selected to advance to the Long Island FIRST LEGO Challenge Championship event.

The great success of the Oakdale-Bohemia Robotics team was due to the contributions of members Brayden Corrado, Daniel Ehlers, Jake Gesseck, William Hackett, Javier Hernandez, Noah Huff, Tristan Nani, Benjamin Povey and Gia Tehrani.

The Ronkonkoma Middle School Robotics team also had great success at the event, placing sixth out of 25 teams in robot scoring. Congratulations to team members Hartley Ahner, Brady Andreola, Isabella Martinez, Nicholas Peluso, Brayden Schutz and Zoe Weissberg.
