Under the direction of James Nagle and Nicole White, the high school’s Long Island Voices and Seventh Street Singers combined their voices to sing the national anthem during the Bohemia Fire Department’s 9/11 Memorial Service in recognition of the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Mr. Nagle explained that this is the first time the combined show choirs have performed at this specific event but have often been combined for other community and charity events. Long Island Voices performs repertoire from primarily musical theater genre and incorporates choreography, similar to the popular show “Glee.” The Seventh Street Singers are an a cappella group that sings music heard on the radio, much like the movie “Pitch Perfect.” To become a member of either choir group, a student must audition, and both choirs meet during the school day to rehearse.

Connetquot Director of Fine Arts and Music Education Vincent Malafronte congratulated the students on their stellar performance which truly resonated in the hearts of the Bohemia community.
