The Connetquot Central School District is pleased to announce that John Armenia,?Dominic Kauffmann, Jaclyn Petrelli and Katlyn Smith were selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association’s Winter All-State Conference to be held in Rochester on Dec. 2-5. Additionally, Isabella Kerr, Lauren Longo, Evan Mistler, Valerie Passannante, Catherine Rozario?and Ingrid Van Dood?were selected as alternates. The students auditioned among thousands of musicians across the state for this honor during solo and ensemble festivals and were selected based on their scores and judge’s recommendations.

James Mauceri and Vincent Keddy were also selected to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Middle School and High School Instrumental Jazz ensembles, respectively. The student-musicians were selected through an audition process among hundreds of applicants throughout the county and the state. The Instrumental Jazz Ensemble will perform at the SCMEA Day of Jazz, held on Nov. 6 at East Islip High School.

Connetquot Director of Fine Arts and Music Education Vincent M. Malafronte said the district is proud of these student-musicians who will represent Connetquot in the All-State and SCMEA festivals. “The students’ selection to these prestigious festivals is indicative of their hard work and is a testament to the unwavering support of faculty and community support of the arts.”
