Students enrolled in Pamela Carey’s fashion marketing class at Connetquot High School recently had the privilege of working alongside The Fashion Foundation founder Amanda Munz for a fun and educational marketing experience.

For a large majority of the morning into the early afternoon, the school store was transformed into a “pop-up shop” consisting of designer clothing, jewelry, handbags and other garments which were readily available for purchase by staff and students alike. Prior to setting up the shop with assistance from Ms. Munz, the fashion marketing students took a trip to The Fashion Foundation’s warehouse located in Farmingdale to gain some firsthand tips about the fashion world and how to become a successful entrepreneur. With these refined skills on hand, the students were able to apply their knowledge toward creating a stunning store which they advertised together as a team.  

By the end of the day, it was reported that a whopping $865 worth of merchandise was sold. Proceeds will go to the less fortunate students in the New York City area. Due to the efforts of The Fashion Foundation, more than 6,000 students have been provided with new school supplies and equipment toward brightening their school days.

Ms. Munz created The Fashion Foundation approximately five years ago after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, located in the heart of Manhattan. Since then, it has been her life’s work to sell donated items of clothing and use the profit to benefit underprivileged schools and their student bodies.
