Students enrolled in Donna DiNatale’s Italian classes at Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School recently secured the first-place title in the middle school division of the Long Island Language Competition based on their stunning dance routine. For their routine, the students engaged in the traditional Italian folk dance “Tarantella,” which is characterized by its upbeat tempo and a percussive accompaniment by tambourine players. As recognition of their victory, the students were rewarded with medals and certificates signifying their first-place win.
