Twenty-one students representing Connetquot High School’s National Business Honor Society recently attended the National Grid/Junior Achievement Young Women’s Leadership Workshop held at National Grid’s Technical Training Center in Melville.

The young women began the morning by attending a keynote address given by Mary Genoy, vice president of National Grid. Afterward, they participated in three round-robin sessions which focused on strengthening their career skills - Business Communications, Career Panel and Working in Teams.

This full-day conference provided real life experiences for the students, as they met with diverse women in leadership roles and learned from their life experiences in the workforce. One of the main goals of the conference is to expose young women to other professionals who have pursued careers in a variety of fields.
