Best Reflections on Dance and Music

Isabella Franco Maciel and Brynn Burke Hold Their Honor Certificate thumbnail200008
The district is pleased to announce two state-level student-winners in the National PTA Reflections program.

Cherokee Elementary School student Isabella Franco Maciel received the State Award of Merit in dance choreography for the performance of a Paraguayan dance number. Brynn Burke, a student at Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School, was also a State Award of Merit winner in the category of music composition for her recording of a guitar number.

Each year, more than 300,000 students in grades pre-K through 12 submit works of art to the Reflection program, assisting them in the exploration of ideas and the development of artistic literacy. Completed works of art are submitted into one or all categories including dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

The district congratulates Isabella and Brynn on this outstanding accomplishment.
