The Connetquot Central School District has appointed Brigid Villareale as its new assistant superintendent for business and operations, effective Nov. 12, 2019. 

Ms. Villareale comes to Connetquot from the Hempstead Public School District, where she served as the assistant business administrator for the past two years. Under her supervision, she oversaw the planning, development and implementation of the district’s $221 million budget process which included overall budget strategy, alignment with the educational plan and prioritization of needs. Additionally, she managed school business office operations including long range fiscal planning, accounting, purchasing, payroll, transportation, employee benefits, accounts payable and audit preparation. She also prepared and submitted all state reports with the appropriate departments including Every Student Succeeds Act Transparency Form, Tax Cap Form, SED Monitoring Surveys, Administrative Salary Disclosure and the Property Tax Report Card. 

Prior to Hempstead, Ms. Villareale worked as the district clerk of the Hauppauge Public Schools System, where she spearheaded the System to Track and Account for Children, which ensured that all private placement costs were accurate. She also prepared and coordinated all necessary documentation for board of education meetings, including personnel, financial reports and administrative matters. In addition, she served as a member of the policy committee, provided drafts and legal updates to the committee team and organized revised policies for board approval. 

Ms. Villareale is also a dedicated member to multiple professional associations, including the Association of School Business Officials New York, the Nassau ASBO, and the New York State School Board Association. She was the recipient of the 2019 New York School Business Official Leader of the Year Award from the Association of School Business Officials in New York and sits on the professional development committee for that association.
