Earlier this month, the Connetquot High School Marching Band participated in the annual Columbus Day Parade held in Manhattan, once again proving to the thousands of spectators that they are a group of highly talented musicians. According to Connetquot High School Marching Band Director Gregory Johnson, the band has continuously finished in the top five position of the 20 total bands that compete since 2006. In addition to their participation in the Columbus Day Parade, the band also stunned audiences at the Newsday Marching Band Festival held at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale on Oct. 17. “We are extremely proud of all of the hard work our band students put in every year,” said Mr. Johnson.
