Boys Volleyball Team Claims Victory

The Connetquot High School boys volleyball team moved closer to the first-place Sachem North High School team by defeating Smithtown West High School 3-1 on Oct. 16 at home. Although the T-Birds dropped the first set, they went on to take the next three (25-14, 25-20, 26-24), and, ultimately, the win. 

Stan Maring and Trey Cole recorded 16 kills apiece to improve the record to 9-2 in Suffolk County Division I. Connetquot now stands third in the 22-team division and is refining its game in preparation for the upcoming Suffolk County volleyball playoff tournament.

Coaches Jessica Perry and Steve Woessner, along with the members of the team, are all looking forward to the end-of-the-season county playoffs. 


Field Hockey Team Honors Senior Players

On Oct. 12, the Connetquot High School girls field hockey team came together to win against the visitors from West Babylon High School by a convincing score of 3-0, picking up their third win of the season against the 11-4 Bulldogs.

A loud and supportive home crowd could be heard throughout the game encouraging the girls to do their best. Coach Jen Piscitelli is grateful for her seniors, who have shared their experiences and have encouraged the younger players all season long.

Graduating seniors Abby Audia and Emma Jasinski scored for the T-Birds, along with freshman Farah Amarando. Additionally, Connetquot goalie Hannah Pitka held the visitors scoreless. Prior to the game, graduating seniors Abby Audia, Emma Jasinski and Brooke Parillo were recognized for their dedication to the program and their support for the underclassmen.
 
Girls Volleyball Team Celebrates Senior Night With a Win

The Connetquot High School girls varsity volleyball team, coach Justin Hertz and the T-Bird community celebrated the team’s graduating seniors on Oct. 11. Connetquot graduating seniors Laurel Edwards, Diana Migliozzi, Julia Patsos, Kiarra Roth and Nicole Serravillo were presented with flowers and gifts, and showered with affection from their teammates, fans and coaching staff in recognition of their efforts. 

The T-Birds celebrated this special night by defeating Northport High School in three straight sets (25-13, 25-19, 25-10). The team also improved its undefeated overall record to 14-0, while Northport fell to 5-4. Kiarra Roth finished with 11 kills, Diana Migliozzi added 18 assists and Julia Patsos had 13 digs to contribute toward this home win.

Connetquot High School ranks first in Suffolk County League II. Way to go, T-Birds!


Girls Cross-Country Team Wins League Championships

Connetquot High School girls cross-country coach Mike Austin celebrated with his runners on Oct. 15 as they defeated Northport High School and finished the regular season as undefeated league champions. Competing at Sunken Meadow State Park, this was the team’s first League III championship in six years and their third total in the 26-year history of the program. 

Isabella Cottone tied the school course record with a time of 17:30. By the end of the day, Connetquot had defeated Northport by a final score of 22-36.

Congratulations to Connetquot High School varsity girls tennis player Andrea Brazyte for winning the Division II tennis tournament by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 in the finals!
