The educational achievements of this year’s Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School eighth grade class were applauded by proud parents, family members and educators on June 25, during a memorable moving up ceremony held at Connetquot High School.

Before each student was presented with a commemorative moving up certificate, OBMS Principal Susanne Bailey congratulated the hundreds of scholars and wished them good health, happiness and success in all they do.

“On behalf of everyone at OBMS, we thank you for demonstrating kindness and compassion and for being leaders for our sixth and seventh graders,” she said. “We are so proud of how you’ve grown both in and out of the classroom, and we wish you four of the greatest years of your lives at Connetquot High School.”

Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lynda Adams, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dean Mittleman, Board of Education President Milynn Augulis, Board of Education trustee Jaclyn Napolitano-Furno, Idle Hour Elementary School Principal Sandra Rubin and John Pearl Elementary School Principal Susan White.
