As a means of celebrating the numerous talented student-artists throughout the district, Connetquot High School recently hosted the end of year Honors Art Show, recognizing artistic achievements on both the elementary and high school levels. After an introduction from Director of Fine Arts and Music George Rockwin, students were individually called up to the front of the auditorium and presented with tokens of appreciation courtesy of their respective art teachers and school principals. While the elementary-level artwork lined the walls of the Eric Martinsen Performing Arts Center, the high school students’ work was on full display within the cafeteria, highlighting successes in photography, sculpting and graphic design work.
