In an effort to share best practices and shed light onto the district’s robust computer science curriculum, computer science and engineering specialists from the district recently presented at the 21st annual ASSET Technology Conference held in Melville.

During their attendance, the specialists shared details about the K-5 computer science program, along with its progression thus far. They carefully explained how the district’s program is designed to meet the NYS P-12 Science Learning engineering practices and standards in an effort to develop the necessary skills for the 21-century learner. According to Elementary STEM Chairperson Bethanie Rizzo, particular attention was made to the equitable experiences across the district, as all K-5 students receive lessons and design challenges during their time spent learning.

The district would like to thank computer science and engineering specialists Patrick Brennan, Jill Ferraro, John Llanes, Cathy Mongiello and Connetquot Central School District Elementary STEM Chairperson Bethanie Rizzo for attending this prestigious event.
