With assistance from instructor Judith Jones, seventh-grade students enrolled in family and consumer sciences classes at Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School recently completed their sewing unit. Using their creative talents, the students designed patchwork pillows and sewed their own “emoji” pillows based on the popular digital icons.

“They students designed, measured and planned out the projects from start to finish; they were all very proud of their work,” Mrs. Jones said.
