Earlier this spring, fourth graders at Edith L. Slocum Elementary School participated in a virtual field trip hosted by the Long Island Explorium. Through this interactive presentation, the students learned about how airplanes take flight, including the challenges associated with it, why runways are designed the way they are, and what can be done in the future to improve the takeoff process.
