The District has been notified that Amanda White has withdrawn her candidacy for a Board of Education Trustee seat.

Pursuant to Education Law § 2018(d), the deadline for the filing of the nominating petition for the office of member of the Board of Education has been extended to Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. By order of the Governor of New York State, this year’s annual meeting and election is to be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 by absentee ballot. Accordingly, Executive Order 202.26 provides that every eligible voter in the District be sent an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope.

The District is in the process of printing and mailing out absentee ballots to all eligible voters within the District. In order for voters to receive and mail back the ballots by June 9, 2020 at 5:00 pm, the District will mail out the original ballot, which includes Amanda White as a Board of Education candidate. Additionally, if a nominating petition is received by 5:00 pm on June 2, 2020, the District will provide notice on its website that such candidate has been so nominated and individuals wishing to vote for said candidate must do so by writing his or her name on the ballot in the blank space provided for write-in candidates.
