On Feb. 25, kindergarten students throughout the district celebrated the 100th day of the school year with 100% enthusiasm. Spirited kindergartners at all seven district elementary schools created projects and participated in activities in various subject areas related to the number 100. Besides being an exciting milestone, Connetquot teachers credit the 100th day theme with sharpening students’ math and observation skills.

At Idle Hour and Cherokee Street Elementary Schools, kindergartners spent the day dressed up as 100-year-olds, sporting everything from gray hair, to curlers, to drawn-on wrinkles, while those at Edward J. Bosti Elementary School paraded through the hallways in a “fashion show,” displaying the creative costumes and posters they had made for the occasion while cheered on by students and staff.
