Students in Connetquot Central School District’s English as a New Language department and their families recently enjoyed a night of reptilian fun. During its biannual ENL Family Night, the department welcomed animal science and wildlife education professional “Erik the Reptile Guy,” who introduced the students and their families to his reptile counterparts and taught them about the unique qualities of each one. The students even had the opportunity to touch and hold some of them, including snakes, turtles and lizards. In addition to Erik’s presentation, the group also engaged in reptile-themed crafts and were served a pizza dinner. Members of Connetquot High School’s Civic Club volunteered their time to help ensure that this exciting event ran smoothly and was pleasurable for all who attended.
