Girls Winter Track Team Excelled at Suffolk County Crossover Meet

Connetquot High School girls winter track coaches Jim Crowley and Michael Austin were impressed by their athletes’ energy and enthusiasm as they competed against 12 other teams at the Suffolk County Crossover ‘C’ Track Meet, held at Suffolk County Community College.

Crowley and Austin look forward to an exciting winter season as the team continues to mature and develop confidence in their individual and collective abilities. 

Boys Basketball Team Earns First Win of 2020
 
On Jan. 8, the Connetquot High School boys basketball team earned their first win of 2020. The T-Birds defeated Suffolk County League II opponent Lindenhurst with a 59-57 decision in a game that saw the lead change eight times in the second half.
 
Top scorers for Connetquot were Johnny Melville with 17 points, followed by Jake Riegger (14) and Aidan Orgonas (12). Orgonas scored on two three-point baskets, while Joe Banfo and Gavin Lane scored one apiece.
 
Connetquot’s league record stands now at 1-3.
