Girls Volleyball Wins Suffolk County AA Title for Fifth Time in Six Years

Seeded No. 1 in the Suffolk County AA championship at Newfield High School, the Connetquot High School girls volleyball team swept No. 3 Smithtown West to win its fifth Suffolk County title in six years.  

On Nov. 11, in front of a large, loud and supportive crowd, the T-Birds won in straight sets 25-12, 25-17 and 25-19. Connetquot will now compete in the Long Island championship game, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 16 at Hauppauge High School.  

Connetquot will face the winner of the Massapequa vs. Syosset contest, which will determine the Nassau County champion. Connetquot coach Justin Hertz told his players to enjoy this win, then come back tomorrow ready to work for the Long Island championship and trip upstate for the New York State championships. 

Connetquot was led by Kiarra Roth’s 15 kills, Diana Migliozzi’s 40 assists, Julia Patsos’ 15 digs and Kylie Wixted’s 12 blocks. The T-Birds advance to the Long Island championship game with an overall record of 18-1.
