Fifth-grade students from John Pearl Elementary School recently enhanced their computer science and engineering skills as they created their very own projects from a MakerBot Replicator+ 3D Printer with assistance from library media specialist Karen Deaner.

For the past few weeks, the young engineers spent time in the school library using the Tinkercad program to design three-dimensional miniatures of their choosing from scratch. Utilizing their creative talents, the students created keychain-sized designs featuring their names, humorous phrases and small robots.

Tinkercad is credited as being one of the most popular classroom tools for creating 3D simple designs from scratch, as students are able to quickly rearrange their tangram-style designs without hassle.
