Six student-artists throughout the district recently displayed their incredible artwork in the Colors of Long Island art exhibit held at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook on the weekend of March 1.

This year’s annual student art exhibit included hundreds of works of art by 263 student-artists from 127 schools across Long Island. In order to be considered the exhibition, teachers were asked to submit up to two pieces from their students, including both individual works and/or group projects.
The district congratulates students Riley Brennan and John Whelan (Idle Hour Elementary School); Jaden McKay and Natalya Esposito-Biondi (John Pearl Elementary School); and Lauren Bizzaro and Melissa Tribley (Connetquot High School).

District art teachers Krystal Zaglool and Sheilah Higgins are both incredibly proud of their students’ hard work and efforts toward being accepted to take part in this year’s exhibition.

The collection of work is open for public viewing in the Long Island Museum’s Visitors Center through April 7.
