The district is thrilled to announce that Connetquot High School Senior Dylan Macejko was recently selected as a News 12 Scholar Athlete as sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union based on his outstanding academic scores and unwavering commitment to swimming.

Joined by a number of district administrators, coaches and his mother in Connetquot High School, Dylan was visited by News 12 Sports Director and news anchor Kevin Maher along with Bethpage Federal Credit Union Business Development Manager Chris Croken in an effort to personally congratulate him on his stunning accomplishment. As a News 12 Scholar Athlete, Dylan was featured on a personal News 12 segment, and has been awarded a $1,000 Scholarship courtesy of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

In addition to being a highly decorated swimmer, Dylan will also serve as the valedictorian for the Connetquot High School graduating Class of 2019. He plans on giving his full efforts during the 50m Freestyle race at the NYSPHSAA Boys Swimming & Diving Championships being held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center on Saturday, March 2.

Dylan plans to further his post-high school education at Binghamton University this fall to study computer science and continue his successful swimming career.

He is joined by 29 other scholar-athletes from Long Island in being selected for this prestigious honor. In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must meet a number of criteria including a minimum GPA of 3.5, showing examples of leadership to service and others, and SAT scores of 1200 or higher.
