A number of Distributive Education Club of America members from Connetquot High School recently competed against 26 regional high schools and more than 1,000 students in the Suffolk County DECA Regional Competition held at Suffolk County Community College.
The district congratulates the following students for finding successes in their respective categories during the competition: Anthony Balogoa and Alex Szczpanski (Sports and Entertainment Decision Making), Emma Bunnicci (Hospitality Services Management), Tim Lyon and Jack Sullivan (Sports and Entertainment Decision Making), Adam Moussa (Financial Consulting), Sarah Rahim (Hospitality Services Management) and Tyler Woerter (Professional Selling).

The purpose of DECA is to teach real-world business skills to students in an effort to build their skill sets, such as public speaking, presentation and networking.
