Girls Volleyball Team Finishes In Second Place at County Finals

The Connetquot High School girls volleyball team exceeded expectations and finished the regular season with a record of 13-2-0, earning an invitation to the Suffolk County championships. Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort by the Lady T-Birds, the members of Commack High School’s team defeated them in three straight sets at Suffolk Community College, Brentwood campus, on Nov. 8.

Congratulations to Coach Justin Hertz and his overachieving Lady T-Birds on a season to be proud of. Special thanks to Connetquot’s only two seniors, Kendall Lillie and Alex Parillo, who were leaders both on and off the court.

Although the season ended short of their overall goal, Connetquot has much to be proud of, and much more to look forward to.

“We finished in fourth place two years ago and came up with an impressive second-place finish this season,” said coach Renee Guerrieri. “Coach Tantone and I are so very proud of this very special group of young ladies for what they’ve overcome this year and what they have accomplished.”
Sarah Moussa had an outstanding competition as she finished second in the All-Around with a score of 36.225. She also tied for second place on the beam (9.2), third in the vault (9.025), tied for fourth on the floor (9.4) and fourth on the bars (8.6).
