Boys Volleyball Team Wins in Straight Sets

The Connetquot High School boys varsity volleyball team claimed another victory as they defeated Comsewogue High School on Sept. 17 at home. 

Winning in three straight sets (25-17, 25-8, 25-16) the T-Birds improved their conference record to 2-1. Trey Cole had seven kills, Brian Spencer contributed 17 assists and five aces while Tom Domozych finished with 11 digs.

CHS/East Islip Swim Team Remains Undefeated

The joint Connetquot/East Islip High School swim team hosted the combined Huntington/Whitman High School team at Connetquot High School for a Suffolk County League I Conference meet on Sept. 17. By the end of the night, the Connetquot/East Islip team claimed victory with a 90-82 win, remaining undefeated for the season with a flawless record of 3-0.

Kylie Martinez won the 200-freestyle (2:09.35), while Payton Collins, Camryn Kreuscher, Madison Tafe and Kylie finished first in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:42.02.

Girls Volleyball Team Comes Up Close, Then Bounces Back

The Connetquot High School girls varsity volleyball team lost a close game to Northport High School on Sept. 17, their first loss to a Long Island opponent since 2014. Despite winning the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-23, Connetquot dropped the next three and fell to a 3-1 record for the season.

Julia Patsos had 16 digs, while Nicole Seravillo contributed 28 assists against the visiting team.
“The team was disappointed in the outcome of the Northport matches, but is keeping it in perspective,” coach Justin Hertz said. “We will continue to work hard and represent the Connetquot community as we always have.”

However, the T-Birds were able to bounce back the next day with a solid win against Smithtown East High School in three straight sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-23), improving to an updated record of 4-1 for the already successful season.
