Students, staff, administration and community members of the district recently gathered at the Connetquot High School track to celebrate the district’s second annual Relay For Life event. Due to the district’s fundraising efforts, more than $35,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society to provide research and services for those undergoing cancer treatment.

Through moving ceremonies, musical entertainment, a survivor/caregiver walk, lawn games and delicious food, Relay For Life honored survivors and caregivers while offering a space for those affected by cancer to come together as a community.

“We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for Connetquot's second annual Relay For Life event,” said Connetquot High School psychologist and Relay for Life coordinator Courtney Huguenin. “The success of this event was made possible through months of collaborative efforts of community volunteers, the administration of the Connetquot Central School District, the Connetquot Civic Club, and the American Cancer Society.”
