Weekly Sports Update - May 14-18, 2018

Incredible Girls Lacrosse Season Comes to an End

After an incredible season, the Connetquot High School girls varsity lacrosse team’s season came to an end on May 11 with a loss to Smithtown East High School by a final score of 14-7, as the T-Birds finish their season with a conference record of 7-7.

Anna Thornton contributed two goals while Justine Ferrara, Emma McLoughlin, Marina Skelly and Hayley Weltner chimed in with one each. Additionally, Hayley Weltner and Samantha Ramacca were each credited with one assist. Sidney Danseglio performed well in goal, as she was credited with five saves against the visitors.

Head coach Sal Piscitelli, along with assistant coaches Caitlyn Murray and Matt Mauro, thanked this year’s players and their families for another exciting season. They wish the six graduating seniors great success on the next level and look forward to the return of so many talented underclassmen for the 2019 season.


The Season Isn’t Over Yet for the CHS Baseball Team

After several postponed games, the Connetquot High School baseball team was defeated by Bay Shore High School in the second round of the Suffolk County AA Tournament by a final score of 1-0.

The Suffolk County baseball tournament is played in the style of a double-elimination playoff, giving the T-Birds another chance to advance.

The T-Birds now stand at 13-8 and are looking forward to their game against Smithtown East High School on Saturday, May 19.
