For the second-consecutive year, several members of the Connetquot High School Anti-Bullying Club participated in the Town of Islip’s Anti-Bias Task Force in an effort to help cultivate a positive learning environment and community.

In preparation for the program, the students were trained to assess bias concerns, make positive changes and influence character development in their school and community. As a culminating activity, the students worked together on addressing prejudice, engaging in meaningful discussions on how to combat the issue.

Connetquot High School Principal Kenneth Costa congratulated Anti-Bullying Club adviser Barbara Martorelli-Shapland and her students for their efforts to fight bias and for sharing their work with members both the Connetquot community and other school districts.

The district congratulates the following members of the Connetquot High School Anti-Bullying Club: Liam Donegan, Vincent Fasano, Alanysse Fonseca, Zahra Kahrti, Anthony Justiniano, Ampry Pea-Arias, Leah Russell and Nautica Sakellarides.
